And it begins...!

The flight from Logan Airport to Heathrow, London went rather quickly.  A smooth comfortable ride (as comfortable as it gets for being tall and cramped in small seats).
American Airlines flight
We landed in Heathrow just after 9 pm, only 4 pm back home, to discover all the airport restaurants were closing.  We had to settle for a convenient store dinner....a bacon and chicken pre-made sandwich with a cola (didn't come close to a Coke)...not the greatest introduction to foods in the UK.  Heathrow Airport was amazingly large, and Terminal 5 (below, left) where we flew out of heading to Edinburgh was unbelievable, incredible amounts of shops and restaurants.

Unfortunately our connection flight to Edinburgh wasn't until 8 am the next morning, giving us 11 hours to kill in the airport, only 2 of which we managed to sleep.  The benches weren't too comfortable (above, right).  I guess we should have accepted the offer of the old lady sitting next to Dubs to spend the night at her place.
